The National Cum Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) UG will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This test was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until 2018. NEET (UG) is applicable for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India at medical/dental colleges conducted with the approval of the Medical Council of India/ Dental Council of India under Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

The NTA’s responsibility shall be limited to conducting entrance examination, declaration of result and provision of All India Rank to Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India for conducting advice for 15% of seats of quota of All India and to provide the result. to state/other counseling authorities
