Students seeking admission to engineering colleges in India are required to sit for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). It is an All India Common Entrance Examination conducted in 2 phases i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Institutions like the NITs, IIITs and other State or Central funded institutions grant admissions based on the JEE Main results. While IIT and ISM, Dhanbad grants admissions based on JEE Advanced result. Also, students who successfully pass the cut-off marks set by JEE Main can only take JEE Advanced.
